The National Gallery of Victoria (NGV) is seeking an Assets and Procurement Manager to oversee Assets and Procurement and provide exceptional service delivery for the Department of Facilities and Operations and the wider NGV.

ABOUT THE POSITION:

Working in collaboration with the Head of Facilities Management, this position will deliver compliant, efficient and effective asset management, procurement and contract management services for the Department of Facilities and Operations and the wider NGV. Other key responsibilities include:

  • Managing the Assets and Procurement function, including asset management, procurement, leasing and contract management, and providing expert advice and training for NGV staff.
  • Leading and motivating the Assets and Procurement team, instilling a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Managing Departmental procurement planning and procurements, including public and select approaches to market, and establishing supplier panels. Supporting the procurements of other teams across the NGV.

To be successful, you will have a relevant industry tertiary qualification/s and certification/s. You will have senior experience in delivering asset management, procurement and contract management services and systems, ideally in a Victorian public sector organisation, paired with a proven comprehensive understanding of the requirements of the Victorian Government Finance Minister’s Standing Directions, including the Victorian Government Purchasing Board and the Asset Management Accountability Framework.

You maximise effectiveness by selecting, developing and managing a high-performing team, ensuring staff are actively deployed through effective workforce planning practices and building team commitment by demonstrating personal conviction. You can produce project plans where objectives are clearly defined, and action steps for achieving them are clearly specified. You can establish and maintain relationships with people at all levels, build trust through consistent actions, values and communication and minimise surprises.
