The National Gallery of Victoria (NGV) is seeking an Inventory Assistant to assist in maintaining accurate inventory records and ensuring the timely and efficient flow of stock by receiving, processing, replenishing and organising inventory to support retail operations and uphold stock integrity.
ABOUT THE POSITION:
As directed, you will be responsible for using the computerised inventory system to receive, check, register and prepare stock accurately for sale, ensuring appropriate stock maintenance and storage across multiple locations, and email updates are provided to the Retail team. To be successful, you will have appropriate experience in a retail inventory position with inventory software for processing of stock, data maintenance and data retrieval. You regularly plan and track progress on work tasks, take an organised and methodical approach to work and address priority tasks first. You observe fine details, demonstrate capacity for sustained effort and hard work, and accept changed priorities without undue discomfort.
You use a wide range of software application features for stock processing, spreadsheets (e.g. MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Photoshop etc.) and experience with (or an aptitude for learning) administration of database systems. You have experience with Infinity or retail Inventory Management system.
Knowledge of supplier invoicing processes, including domestic and international taxation, freight documentation and reconciliation procedures is advantageous.
The lifting and movement of heavy objects is an inherent requirement of the position and therefore the applicant is required to be physically fit. Successful applicants will be required to undergo a fitness assessment prior to commencing work at the NGV.
