The National Gallery of Victoria (NGV) is seeking a Project Manager, NGV Contemporary to work in collaboration with the Associate Director, Facilities and Operations, the Project Manager, NGV Contemporary, oversees the NGV Contemporary project team and provides exceptional project management, coordination and administration to the NGV Contemporary Project and the Department of Facilities and Operations.  

ABOUT THE POSITION:

You will be responsible for supporting the successful delivery of NGV Contemporary and Facilities and Operations projects, by providing exceptional project management, coordination and administration assistance to the projects, project teams and senior staff. Other key responsibilities include:

  • Leading and motivating the NGV Contemporary project team, instilling a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Supporting the broader Melbourne Arts Precinct Transformation (MAPT) project, led by project partners Development Victoria and MAPCo, including project governance, planning and reporting.
  • Supporting the design and construction of the new NGV Contemporary building, associated upgrades to existing facilities and business continuity planning through proactive and effective project planning, scheduling, budgeting, monitoring and reporting.  

To be successful, you will have relevant tertiary qualification (preferably in facilities, construction, architecture, engineering or project management) and experience in delivering capital works or construction projects.

You maximise effectiveness by selecting, developing and managing a high performing team, ensure staff are actively deployed through effective workforce planning practices, builds team commitment by demonstrating personal conviction, professionalism and motivates others to deliver against goals. You can produce project plans where objectives are clearly defined and action steps for achieving them are clearly specified, regularly communicates with, and supports project team members and ensures project objectives are met by anticipating and managing potential and emerging issues.

Project management accreditation would be highly regarded.
